I had a "moment" the other day.
I was picking up some blocks in my room that Lily dumps out constantly.
They are the old school wooden blocks that have letters on them.
I've stepped on them a few times now, it's pretty painful.
She loves to build "towers".
Cannon loves to knock them down.
Anyway, like I mentioned I was picking them up for the umpteenth time that week.
Lily and I sometimes pick them up together, but this time I was picking them up on my own.
For a minute I was annoyed, just kind of feeling like all I did was pick things up.
Then I had my "moment".
I was suddenly grateful to be picking up toys.
I thought about what it would be like if there were no more toys to pick up.
I realized that I would pick up toys forever if I could.
I'm sure I'll still have lots of times where I am short on patience.
But hopefully I'll more easily remember how blessed I am to have kids to pick up after.
