costumes

I'm not gonna lie, I'm a bit of a grinch when it comes to Halloween.
This year was no different.

Costumes are expensive.
You're not cool if your whole family doesn't coordinate.
(we are NOT cool)
We have to dress up like 4 different times.
We have to regulate candy consumption.
I could go on . . .

But - I admit - once the little monkeys are all dressed up, they sure do look cute, uncoordinated outfits and all. Too bad I couldn't get a good picture of all three of them.

Lily insisted on being a witch, Cannon a superhero, and Benson was dying to be a zebra (because the outfit was on sale at Gap).

Lily forgot her wand for the big night, but she was still "witchy".

Photobucket

This picture is a bit deceiving. I don't actually remember Cannon ever sitting down.
He was running around like crazy because he liked how his cape flew behind him (see previous post).
And, he was LOVIN' that mask.

Photobucket

We let Lily use purple hair color and she did NOT want to wash it out.
She begged to go to bed with it.
The first night I said no.
The second night I gave in.
I put a dark pillow case on her pillow and let her sleep with it in.

Love these kiddos.

Thank heavens I have 345-ish days until I have to start stressin' about Halloween again.

coming soon . . .

A halloween post.
For now, here is a sneak peak at one of our little people.
Why is it so hard to get a post done, you ask?
I can't find a picture where my barefoot superhero isn't RUNNING!!

Happy Halloween

Thanks to Aunt Lara the kids looked adorable.
We headed over to Mimi's for her birthday party.
We thought we would make it back to our neighborhood for trick-or-treating.
However, the kids were having so much fun at Mimi's we just decided to hang out there with all of the cousins.
Here are a few pictures from the night . . .

Cannon hammin' it up

This one is for Lara.
How cute did that costume turn out?

Claire, Lily, Carlee.
All within four month's of age.
Lily is the oldest by three weeks, and the shortest.
Carlee just moved back to the valley. Fun, fun!

The best one I could get of the two little rascals together.
Cannon was all over the place!

Daddy dressed up as Waldo and it was quite the hit.
Here he is walking like Waldo . . .

Here is a video of Lily trying to learn the robot during the little kids dance party that Mimi planned for after the games.

Hope your day was as fun as ours!

Halloween begins . . .

They only had a sucker, some cotton candy, and a cupcake . . .

We steered clear of the actual "trunk-or-treating". I don't need any candy around my house. I'm sure we'll get enough next weekend.

The company was good and thanks to Aunt Lara's creative genius the clown costumes were adorable!

You wanna see more of BoBo and LuLu in their costumes? So do I. Stayed tuned for Halloween part II, and you'll get your fill!

Lady "Lily" Bug

Pictures of Cannon in his turtle costume coming soon, but I couldn't resist posting these pictures of Lily that Kristi took! Isn't she adorable? I love this one of she and her cousin, Claire standing there in their little leggings and tutu's as well.

We also had family pics taken by Kristi and I'll post those soon! Kristi is amazing. Check out her design blog here. I have some seriously talented sister-in-laws.

Move over

M

. . .

There's a new domestic diva in town.

Yes. I made these. Alone, you ask? Nope. Heavily coached by Court and Brooke. I made Court take a picture of me in the making, just to prove to all of you shocked souls (you know who you are), that I actually created these with my own two hands. Best part? The backs of them say "GIVE THANKS" . . . a dual purpose, does it get any better?

I volunteered to make cupcakes for a girlfriend for her daughter's first birthday party. Alone, you ask? Nope. Heavily, coached by Annie, the cooking queen, who by the way has a popular cooking blog you can check out by clicking HERE.

Could the up and coming domestic Diva stop with just a simple cupcake? Heaven's no! What birthday party would be complete without some Barefoot Contessa cupcake pops? Did I make these alone, you ask? Nope. Heavily coached once again, by Anne Strawberry. Actually, I would say I more just watched Anne make these, but I did put the fabulous decor on top.

I'm starting the process of decorating a kids room for our house and want to make it a room that both Cannon and Lily can sleep in, down the road. I fell in love with this tree and cuckoo clock and so I decided to make them for the room! Just kidding, I bought them from PB Kids, mostly because I just didn't have time to make them . . .

I found this gorgeous fabric Alexander Henry fabric and ordered it on EBAY that I'm going to use for their bedding. I would totally whip out my Singer and sew up the duvet and shams myself, but my time is really too precious for that. So, I am going to have their bedding made by another domestic diva that my interior designer (aka my friend Courtney) has connections with.

*for those of you who might be reading this blog, and don't know me well . . . please don't judge me by this post. i'm mostly joking . . .

**to my mother, you really did try and help me to be a "real" domestic diva, so don't feel bad that I'm not.

Precious Pumpkin

Here are some pics of our adorable little pumpkin!! I admit we cheated and just took them this morning . . .

Halloween is Mimi's (Dave's mom) birthday, so it was a bit of a busy day, and we didn't get a chance to put Lily in her costume long enough to take any cute pictures.

I think she makes an adorable pumpkin. We already have our costume for next year, thanks to my parents, you'll just have to wait and see what she's going to be!!

And . . . stay tuned to our blog. We find out Monday if we're having a boy or girl in March!
