chillin'

We've been using the endless pool swim machine a lot this summer.
It creates a current like a lazy river and the kids float in circles around the pool.
They. LOVE. it.

Lily Dear

I love this girl.

She turned 4 a few days ago and we had a little family party for her tonight.

Swimming with cousins is always fun, especially in August.

Cannon is the daredevil of all daredevils in the pool.
Turn your head for ten seconds and he'll drown for sure.
It's really not scary at all.

Lily saw some purple cupcakes with red cherries on Max & Ruby and requested those for her birthday.

Trying to decide what to wish for . . .

Oh Lily dear, you are so loved!
You are smart.
You are caring.
You are sweet.
You are a great big sister.
Everyone who meets you loves you.

We are proud of you little Lou-Lou.

And . . . just for fun.
Here I am on my fourth birthday!

Happy Birthday!

my swimmer

Lily had swimming lessons with Shelly for two weeks again this summer and she has turned into such a great little swimmer!
She loves to practice all her new moves when she gets home.

Here are a couple of short videos.
The first is of her diving.
The second is of her going down the "big" slide.

I can't wait for Cannon to go to Shelly for lessons next year!!

Water Babies

We've been swimming like crazy.
It's HOT, HOT, HOT these days.

Lily took four weeks of swim lessons and has turned into a little fish.
She's doing pretty good!
Check her out in the short clips below if you have a minute, the first is just a little interview. . .

Cannon loves the water too. He loves to walk around our shallow area and splash. I'll have to get some video of him playing in the water too! He's really quite entertaining!

By the way, how is it that kids have no temperature gauge? Cannon was outside playing Monday night while Dave was working on the yard and his cheeks were red as can be, and I know he had to have been burning up, but he could have cared less! Don't worry - I took his shirt off so as to help keep him cool :o)

Monkey Walk

So Lily is on week two of her swimming lessons. They are four days a week for four weeks. The teacher comes here to our house so that's really nice. I just play with Cannon in the front room and watch her out the window, she's hilarious. Always negotiating with the teacher . . . that's my girl.

She was a little afraid to put her face in early last week, but once she got in the pool with her Daddy on Thursday night (a Daddy she would do anything to please) he got her swimming across the hot tub and picking up rings, money, etc. off the bottom of the pool!

Here is a little video of the negotiator:

Can't wait to see more progress over the next few weeks. She still has a long way to go, but she's doing great!

If anyone is looking for a swim instructor to come to their house give me a call and I can get you Hilary's info!

p.s. she LOVES the goggles and refuses to take them off right now. that's gonna make for some really cute raccoon eyes.

I gotta admit . . . this is really quite funny to me. It's gotta be a joke, right?
